Estilo musical surgido a principios de los 70, 80 y 90 e impulsado principalmente por grupos como the Jam, the Ramones y the Clash que tuvo su auge durante los años 1976, 1977, 1978 y 1979 con muchisimas bandas. Este estilo musical se caracteriza por mezclar gritos con melodías y hasta rimas como en el punk.
